    200+ Men Bruce Hacker and Robert Ayers Jr, were honored by the Urban League of Hampton Roads, Inc. at the 31st Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Leaders' Breakfast on Monday, January 19, 2015, 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the at ODU’s Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk.

    Inspired by the work of Martin Luther King Jr., the breakfast recognizes and honors the distinguished service of leaders in our community who contribute to the improvement of society.

    Hacker and Ayers Jr. were honored for their past service in the military, their continued service as strong community leaders and excellent examples of men who carry on the legacy of Dr. King.

    Congratulations to Bruce and Robert!

    200+ Men President James Gray and Parliamentarian Dr. Fred Quarles were honored by the YWCA of South Hampton Roads at the 1st Annual Men Who Empower Tailgate Party and Cook-off on Saturday, October 25th, 2-4 p.m. on the campus of Old Dominion University.

    In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, ten men from the community who work to empower others, particularly women, were recognized during the Tailgate Party and Cook-Off.

    The 200+ Men founding member and longtime president George C. Crawley was honored by the New Journal & Guide at the Impacting Lives Community Awards Ceremony on Saturday, October 25th, 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Murray Banquet and Conference Center in Norfolk.

    The event celebrates those who are making a difference in our community.  Congratulations to George!

    Real influencers—enriching lives. That's YOU! We've inspired over 6,300 young men to reach their full potential. Let's continue the journey. Come meet two power change agents in our community on Saturday, September 13th from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m., at the Springhill Suites, 1997 Power Plant Parkway, Hampton.


    Meeting HIGHLIGHTS

    • Meet Quentin Brown, Executive Director of Communities in Schools (CIS) of Hampton Roads. Quentin will share with you what CIS is doing nationally and locally to keep students in school and on track to graduate and how 200+ Men can help.

    • Meet Dr. Winston Odom, former school superintendent, newest 200+ Men board member and Co-chair of our Education Committee. Winston will present our new mentorship program targeting students at CIS affiliates I.C. Norcom High School, Granby High School and Hampton's Performance Learning Center.
    We need volunteers to serve on mentoring teams, advisory groups, field trip chaperones and other support roles.

    Hampton University Proton Therapy in partnership with PHEN - Prostate Health Education Network invite you to join in a 1 mile walk/run. This year's event will offer Prostate Cancer Early Detection education, information, PSA tests and digital rectal examinations (DREs).

    8:00 AM to Noon

    COST:
    FREE and Open to the Public |
    Refreshments included.
    Women are encouraged to participate in the walk/run and educational activities.

    The Brother to Brother Summer Camp is a four-day intense adventure program. Space is limited to 25-30 middle school-aged young men, so don't wait to complete your application.

     4 day Summer Camp
     When:  August 21-24, 2014
     Where:  YMCA Camp Silver Beach, Jamesville, Virginia
     Why:
     Because it takes a village ...
     Cost:
     FREE for those selected to attend

    Application deadline is July 1st. If you would like to apply to attend this year’s Brother to Brother camp, please complete the application and send it along with a single page essay. Your essay should tell us about yourself, your interests and why you would like to be selected to attend the camp.
