It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our founding president, George C. Crawley. George passed away suddenly the morning of July 27, 2016. George lead 200+ Men as president for more than 13 years and continued to serve as a member of our Board of Directors until his death. Needless to say, all 200+ Men will miss him more than words can express. He was not just a member of 200+ Men but our good friend as well.

    Sincerely,

    James Gray

Henry A. Thompson, II will be the guest speaker at the 19th Annual 200+ Men Scholars Breakfast. What better way to urge our youth onto greater success than to invite back someone that has walked in their shoes.

A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Thompson studied at Morehouse College and the Howard University School of Law before beginning his legal career in the Washington, DC office of an international law firm that promoted him to Partner in 2012 based on his work on a varied caseload involving complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and mass tort litigation.

Thompson is, however, perhaps most proud of his work on behalf of the plaintiffs in The Coalition for Equity and Excellence in Maryland Higher Education, et al. v. Maryland Higher Education Commission, et al., a case involving constitutional challenges to The State of Maryland’s higher education policies and practices as they relate to its Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

In 2014, Thompson opened his own law practice and takes great pride in providing value-added legal services to families and small businesses in Washington, DC and Northern Virginia.

Thompson resides in Washington, DC with his lovely wife, Lauren, a law school classmate, and their twin sons Ezra and Eli. He is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and holds a Life Membership in the Morehouse College National Alumni Association.
